close today:
Today,
markets tried to push higher again in the morning and also around noon,
however, some profit taking by the end of the quarter made markets closed
flat o slightly low for the day since S&P 500's
short-term bottom held around 1,290
as expected and NASDAQ Composite also did not reversal and managed to close
almost flat. In fact, both the Dow Jones Industrials and the Standard &
Poor's 500 returned 4.2% for the quarter, including reinvested dividends,
while the NASDAQ Composite returned an impressive 6.4%. It was the best
quarter overall since the final frame of 2004.
