Trading actions had been very choppy in the past couple of days and this might not be a good time for review - regardless, let’s see how we’re doing.

Despite the overall choppiness, the Swing Trader Bulletin had a very good time. In fact, ALL of 15 long positions continues to perform well. Notably, Evergreen Solar (ESLR) achieved the second target Friday (+5.74%).
In addition, 12 of the 15 holdings had achieved their first target! Open text Corp (OTEX) also achieved and exceeded the second target (+15.17%), Alliant Techsystems Inc. (ATK) achieved and exceeded all 3 targets in as little as 2 weeks, up +10.70%. Tenneco Inc (TEN) had gained 14.44% in just 5 days, Brown Shoe Company Inc (BWS) up 12.97%, Timken Co (TKR) up 11.99%. Sun Healthcare Group Inc (SUNH) lead the portfolio with an amazing 28.38% gain.

On the surface, the market action this week has been very bearish amid another record energy prices – crude oil surged to $135 Thursday morning. And this gave the bulls a lot of pressure. Against all odds, our “Swing trader bulletin” continues to show nice gains.

In fact, if you purchased James River Coal Company (JRCC) since profiled in March 26 “Swing trader bulletin”, you’d be sitting on +140% gains on Thursday morning.

One of the more actively traded shares in the NASDAQ market was Vivus Inc (VVUS). The stock jumped about 13% Thursday morning and gains about +20% since profiled in May 12, 2008 “Swing trader bulletin”.

Similar to JRCC, Fording Canadian Coal (FDG) also posted a nice gain today, up +3.47%. The stock gains about 18% since profiled in May 05, 2008 “Swing trader bulletin”.

Initially profiled in “Swing trader bulletin”, Pacer International Inc (PACR) gains about +13% and remains well position.

Despite weaknesses in the metal stocks, shares of Stillwater Mining Co (SWC) rose almost +3% Thursday morning. The stock gains about +10 since profiled in May 09 “Swing trader bulletin”.

• Flotek Industries Inc (FTK) gains more than +10% in just 2 days
• Titan Machinery Inc (TITN) gains more than +20% in less than 2 weeks.
• Yamana Gold Inc (AUY) gains about +25% in just 3 weeks.
• Big Lots Inc (BIG) +23% in about 4 weeks.
• Del Monte Foods Co (DLM) +10%.
• Amdocs Ltd (DOX) +11%.

Market is everything but quiet in the past couple of days and we think this is a good time for a quick review.

Initially profiled in March 26 “Swing Trader Bulletin”, James River Coal Company (JRCC) has gained more than +120% and remains well positioned.

Actually, we really like the action over the past few weeks – volume picked up as prices cut through key resistance (see chart). As mentioned, we’re still bullish on JRCC and expecting the stock to trend higher.

Shares of China Financial Online (JRJC) rose more than +18% today on massive volume. The stock had gains about 40% since profiled in April 25 “Swing Trader Bulletin” as a potential buy candidate.

One of the more actively traded shares in the IPO market was Titan Machinery Inc (TITN). The stock jumped more than 10% today on explosive volume.

As you can see, TITN gains about +17% in just 3 days after profiled in May 13 “Swing Trader Bulletin” as a potential buy candidate. Today’s bullish breakout had helped setting the stage for an acceleration run into the uncharted territory.

• Lsb Industries Inc (LXU) up about +23% since set up in March 25, 2008.

The Dow up more than 100 points prior to the FOMC announcement. What’s going on?

Topping today headline was news that General Motors Corp (GM), a Dow component, reported a narrower-than-expected quarterly loss and said overseas sales helped to alleviate weakness in the U.S. market. Its shares rose more than 12%, their biggest one-day advance since May 2005. Just so that you know, initially profiled in April 07 “Swing Trader Bulletin”, GM has gained about 13% and remains well positioned.

As we’ve noted in the previous Market Outlook, smart money continues to rotate into tech stocks. This, in fact, was exactly what the members of our “Swing Trader Bulletin” been doing in the past couple of weeks. Yes, we’re always early though it’s better to be early than sorry! Initially profiled on March 12, Google Inc (GOOG) gained more than 32%.

Initially profiled on March 10, Ariba Inc (ARBA) gained more than 33%.
