Frequently Asked Questions
What are RSS feeds and podcasts?
RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication (among other things),
provides you with a new way of keeping on top of Capital Essence Online
news. RSS allows you to view constantly updated headlines from our sites, in addition to headlines from other news
publications, in one place. You can choose which feeds you would like to
display. Read more about RSS readers and how they can help manage your
web-site reading. Podcasts are short audio broadcasts that you can
listen to on your computer, or download to a portable digital-music
player. You can use special software to "subscribe" to individual
programs so that new installments are automatically downloaded when they
become available.
How do I access the feeds?
You will need special software to access RSS feeds and to set up
automatic downloads of podcasts. RSS news readers allow you to view the
service you select in one place and, by automatically retrieving
updates, stay current with new content soon after it is published. There
are many readers available and most are free. Some popular readers for
articles include: Feed Demon, FeedReader, My Yahoo!, NewsGator and
NewzCrawler. After setting up your news reader, you will be ready to use
the our RSS feeds. To subscribe to one or more feeds below, right-click
on one of the channels and select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link
Location" to copy the location (URL) of the service. Follow the
instructions for your particular news reader, and then paste this
location wherever it asks for the location of the service you wish to
subscribe to.
Newer browsers such as Firefox are also supported
directed feeds.
